Why Did CAS Call You?

There are many reasons why CAS might contact you, including:

  • A report was made (anonymously or not) about your child’s safety or well-being

  • Your child mentioned something at school or daycare

  • A family member, ex-partner, neighbour, or professional made a complaint or referral

  • CAS is following up on a past or closed file

  • You were present during an incident involving another family

Remember: CAS is legally obligated to follow up on any report they receive, even if it turns out to be untrue.
